What are Allergies?
An allergy is an overreaction of the immune system to a substance that is typically harmless to most people. With allergies, the body’s immune system treats the substance, called an allergen, as an invader and reacts inappropriately – resulting in harm to the person. Approximately 20% to 30 % of the total population in India suffers from at least one allergic disease. Out of this, about 15% develop Asthma.

Airborne Allergies
Airborne allergies can range from seasonal annoyances to year-round problems in the form of allergic rhinitis. Symptoms observed in Airborne allergies are Sneezing, Runny or stuffy nose, Red, itchy or teary eyes, Wheezing, coughing, tightness in the chest, and shortness of breath and Itching.
Food Allergies
More than 70 foods have been reported as causing food allergies which are most common in infants and often go away as people get older. Hives

Pediatric Allergies
The allergy caused in Children is called Paediatric Allergy. An allergic reaction in a child may occur in the skin, eyes, the lining of the stomach, nose, sinuses, throat, and lungs — places where immune system cells are located to fight off invaders that are inhaled, swallowed, or come in contact with the skin. There are various symptoms observed in Paediatric Allergies some of which are: Seasonal or allergic rhinitis (nasal stuffiness, sneezing, nasal itching, nasal discharge, itching in ears or roof of the mouth), Allergic conjunctivitis (red, itchy, watery eyes), etc.
Allergic Asthma
The same allergens that give some people sneezing fits and watery eyes can cause an asthma attack in others. Allergic asthma is the most common type of asthma. About 90% of kids with childhood asthma have allergies, compared with about 50% of adults with asthma. In India, more than 30% of the total population is affected adversely due to allergic rhinitis. Symptoms observed in Hay Fever: Sneezing, Itching of the nose, eyes or roof of the mouth, runny, stuffy nose, watery, red or swollen eyes (conjunctivitis).
